About

My name is Nicola Holland

I'm a 500-hour, diploma-qualified British Wheel of Yoga teacher, with many years of yoga experience. Around 5 years ago I decided to deepen my yoga knowledge by initially studying the foundation course with the BWY, then deciding to continue on to the full teaching diploma to enable me to share my passion for yoga through teaching.

I love teaching and also currently teach taekwondo. Owning a local club with my family (Fortitude Taekwondo Sevenoaks-Platt), I have also taught swimming and gymnastics in the past too.

What is Hatha Yoga?
Hatha Yoga is a traditional style of yoga that focuses on physical postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), and relaxation techniques. It’s ideal for beginners and anyone looking for a balanced, gentle  yoga.

How is Hatha Yoga different from other types of yoga?
Hatha Yoga focuses on a steady pace with gentle transitions between poses. Unlike fast-flow styles such as Vinyasa, Hatha allows more time to hold each posture, making it ideal for those who want a mindful, restorative practice.

Do I need to be flexible to start Yoga?
Not at all! Yoga is designed to meet you where you are. Our classes include modifications for every posture, so you can practise safely while gradually increasing flexibility.

Is Hatha Yoga safe for older adults or people with injuries?
Hatha Yoga is low-impact and adaptable. We can offer modifications to suit your mobility and any medical conditions — please let your instructor know before class.

Where are your yoga classes held?
Our sessions take place in Platt, Sevenoaks — a short drive from Borough Green, Wrotham, Ightham, Addington, West Malling, West Kingsdown and Trottiscliffe. The venue has free parking, and is easy to reach from the A20 and M20.

How much do your yoga classes cost?
Drop-in classes are £12 per session. We also offer discounted block booking options.

What are the benefits of Hatha Yoga?
Regular Hatha Yoga practice improves flexibility, strengthens muscles, boosts balance, reduces stress, and promotes better posture and breathing. Many students also find it helps improve sleep and overall wellbeing.

What should I wear to a Yoga class?
Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows full range of movement. Most students practise barefoot for better stability and grip on the mat.

Can Hatha Yoga help with stress and anxiety?
Yes. Hatha Yoga’s combination of gentle movement, deep breathing, and relaxation techniques helps calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and improve mental clarity.
